Dreams Unleashed Prophecies Dystopian Trilogy Book 1 eBook Linda Hawley
Patience, patience, patience.........Initially slow at first, the story becomes fast paced and fascinating. This very interesting novel transports you from one side of the country to another, as this disenchanted former FBI employee, learns that her former training haunts her throughout life. From patriot to anarchist she attempts to use her skills to topple certain technologies. I'm sure the author and protagonist felt these actions were more than justifiable, as her righteous indignation is loudly touted throughout the novel. Regardless, the government is portrayed as innately bad, and she & her clandestine organization as the protectors of society & our civil rights. This author's knowledge of many different fields captivates the reader, and challenges your ideologies. You are transported with her through time and place in her dreams. Wait, but are these really dreams? Yes,yes, she's a little self-centered and narcissistic, and may go against your political grain, but finish the. read as it is captivating.Product details

Dreams Unleashed Prophecies Dystopian Trilogy Book 1 eBook Linda Hawley Reviews
Since the other reviewers have adequately covered the details and descriptions of the book's story line, I'll make my primary comment short and sweet I can't wait for the next installment of this trilogy.
One comment I'd like to add I'm familiar with the various concepts and technologies introduced in Dreams Unleashed so I can vouch for the accuracy in the way Hawley employs these things in the story. Hawley has really done her homework. For example, when it comes to the CIA's remote viewing program (Project Stargate) and the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, Hawley is spot on with her descriptions, current applications and possible future applications. The way she has woven these concepts and technologies into the story makes for some fascinating reading and lends a great deal of realism to the plot.
Oh, and the cliff-hanger ending that some reviewers complained about? I LOVED IT! Left me hanging by the tips of my fingernails and screaming for someone to hand me book 2 in the series.

Hmm. freebie that has sat on my 'shelf' for awhile now. I'm mixed on this book. Some of the inner-dialogue was cheese as was some of the regular old dialogue. Some repetition. Some repetition. The premise was interesting - and yes, as Hawley cautions - pay attention to the chapter headers with years, otherwise you could get confused. The book starts and ends well and I found the middle okay. So, mixed - but not mixed enough to not purchase the second book and start reading. Yeah, this book has a dandy lil' cliffhanger. I am liking the second book at the moment. If you are into crystals and such - then this trilogy may be up your alley for a 4-5 star future review.
I often judge books by the lingering memories they leave with me after having finished them. This book triggered some new ideas and some lasting insights that have stayed with me, consciously, and perhaps subconsciously, for a while now. If you find a mix of science, mind expansion and politics interesting, then you will enjoy this one as much as I did. It will also leave you wanting to read the following two books. Perhaps I should have given this 5 stars, however, there were times in these books that I found myself rushing past some extraneous romantic sections to reach the next turn in the story. Maybe that's a good thing? All in all, this is well worth your time and the author did a very good job with a complicated story line. I recommend it highly.
This one drew me in gently and then played about with my imagination to great effect. I liked Ann - I liked the fact she was 44 and a mother, and I liked the fact that this didn't mean she was Martha Stewart or Caroline Ingalls (more like Mrs. Emma Peel from the 1960s Brit-tv show The Avengers). I liked that it was sort-of sci-fi and sort of paranormal and part spy novel with themes about what too much Government interference can bring to a nation. Hint; it's not sunshine and flowers. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it when I started but, boy, it really sucked me in fast and spun me around (thanks by the way for the note about keeping an eye on dates in the chapter headings!). I'm not much for belief in crystal energies (real or imagined) but it didn't feel overdone or over-emphasized so it wasn't too jarring within the tale itself.
This is a review of both books 1 and 2.
I started with The Guardian of Time, then read Dreams Unleashed. So by the end of book 2 I already liked the heroine and very much disliked all the scumbags she had to deal with. So when those folks are introduced in book 1, I already had a bias against them. I guess that's why things should be read in order. The first thing that stood out for me was how smoothly the story moves along. We might be moving three or twenty-three years back and then forward again and there is absolutely no stiltedness between chapters. The pace is quite good. It's not so fast that you get to the end wondering what you've just read. There are no huge shocks that cause you to put the book down to deal with rough imagery.
As I was reading these I could totally see Ann Torgeson being interviewed by George Noory on Coast to Coast AM. I've been involved with Transcendental Meditation since I was 15, so I had no trouble identifying with Ann even though I found myself a bit envious of some of her experiences.
Exchanging freedom for relative liberty is like exchanging water for relative humidity. After the September 11th attacks we were encouraged to do just that. Now, nearly 11 years later we have rules, regulations and and government agencies imposed upon us without our consent. These are topics that might be sensitive to some people, especially anyone who is in favor of what's going on in our culture regarding privacy and freedom. Hopefully reading this trilogy will cause all of us to revisit our opinions about the way things are. I've very much enjoyed reading these books and I look forward to the third installment.
